Jimmy Mathew is a self-taught Indian artist,born in 1977 at Kottayam, Kerala. His works are mainly in acrylic, oil and charcoal mediums. His colourful paintings are deeply personal and documents his own life journey of becoming a full time artist.
He assisted and worked with world famous artists in the first Indian biennale. In the last 15 years, he sold lot of paintings to art collectors, philanthropists, house owners,hotels and professionals who find a connection with his work, passion and drive.
Jimmy portrays human life as coming from the darkness in to the light. A life not perfect but one who striving to live as a good person.

Jimmy uses both colour and symbology to signify emotions such as power/powerlessness and spirituality. Turquoise has become a very important colour in expressing his spirituality, not in the organized religion sense, but as the spirit that is in all humans and expressed in the universe.
